Our Story

In April of 2022, our family experienced a house fire. The blaze started in the garage, and while our house did not suffer a great deal of damage, a forty-year comic book collection was destroyed. Thankfully, our insurance company covered the loss. We chose to take what looked to be a setback and turn it into an opportunity. The decision was made to open our first business, right here in the town we live in and love so much – Frankfort.

This has quickly become one of my favorite pizza places around. I don’t know what kind of magical cheese they use but it makes their pizza next-level. Service is fast and friendly and prices are very reasonable.

My only piece of constructive criticism for the owners is that whatever cleaning solution you use has a VERY strong scent. I’m happy the place is super clean, but it’s so strong that you can barely smell the pizza. I’m not even someone who is sensitive to scents so for me to notice it, it’s strong. I want to smell your wonderful pizza when I walk in the door. ☺️

Went there for a trivia night a not too long ago, it was great! It wasn’t crowded, so you could hear your team members and the mc. The pizza was very good. The “party mcfries,” which is french fries smothered in garlic and parmesan and crisped to perfection, were the highlight. I am a Chicago local, so I am always getting butter garlic fries at hotdog stands when possible, which also means I’m a foodie! The owners were nice and accommodating. It was a cute little place. I loved all the 80s references on the menu. Will plan to come back.

I’ve been to Old Plank Pizza a few times and it’s always great. I especially love the breakfast eggrolls for a Sunday brunch . The staff is always friendly and pizza is tasty!

Me and the fiancé stopped in early morning. The owner is very involved with the customer. The theme of the place has very nostalgic feeling. The food especially the pizza and garlic butter loaded fries are crazy good. Will definitely will be coming back. If you need a place to bring the kids or just enjoy a few drink. We held our annual Girl Scout Leader appreciation dinner here and it was such a wonderful experience. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful in every step of the process. They had tables set up when we arriver and helped us order enough food but not too much. Appetizers, salad, pizzas, and drinks. The food and service were terrific, and the evening was too. Thank you for a lovely night!

I recently hosted a party in the dining room at Old Plank Pizza. It was wonderful! The owner was quick to answer all of my questions through email in the weeks leading up to the event. The food was great. The servers were attentive and accommodating. I felt the prices were good. Overall a great experience!

There are so many things I can say about OPP. From the food, to the cleanliness, to the welcoming environment- I have never been in a restaurant where I could feel how passionate the owner (Brad) is. You can tell that he opened this place to genuinely make people happy and doing that through pizza (AMAZING, perfectly crusted pizza) is genius! I have not had an italian beef sandwich in 20 years (long story but I didnt like them..so I thought) and I will hands down get one every time I go there, but only ever from there. You guys are amazing!!!

Tasty pizza!! Sauce two thumbs up!! Largest chicken wings in Will county. Delicious! Mario’s Delight fried mushrooms are huge and excellent! Doughback Doughballs are to-die-for and a must have!! Looking forward to trying their sandwiches and the rest of the menu. Food prices are on point. Great service even through an extremely busy Friday night! Looking forward to being able to dine in!
