In April of 2022, our family experienced a house fire. The blaze started in the garage, and while our house did not suffer a great deal of damage, a forty-year comic book collection was destroyed. Thankfully, our insurance company covered the loss. We chose to take what looked to be a setback and turn it into an opportunity. The decision was made to open our first business, right here in the town we live in and love so much – Frankfort.

The Egner Family is pleased to share that in the beginning of 2023, Old Plank Pizza Company will be opening its doors and serving our friends and neighbors amazing classic Southside Chicago pizza, sandwiches, and wings. Old Plank Pizza Company will be operating at 14 Elwood Street in downtown Frankfort, formerly Durbin’s of Frankfort.

There will be some growing pains, as this is our first business, but rest assured – cleanliness, quality, and customer service are our focus.

We appreciate the opportunity and once we are up and running, we welcome any and all feedback so we can meet the needs of the community.
